COURSE DESCRIPTION
This Chair Massage course will teach students about the clothed for seated massage to benefit the public. Massage therapists with chair massage training, referred to as seated massage or on-site massage, treat clients in airports, workplaces, and many other settings. this is a very convenient technique for the public and clients with clothes on massage.
This course provides key conceptual preparation and encouragement to seek additional hands-on training in seated massage and reviews core elements that will benefit experienced seated massage practitioners. Through charts, hands-on, case studies, and sample forms, explore the chart
of the human back reflective zone and the anatomical illustration. for safety techniques, show students the equipment of massage chair/massage recliner, communication with clients, documentation, and body mechanics. The course provides detailed instructions and charts for numerous seated massage routines.
This course will help students learn to:
- Identify the benefits of chair massage compared to recliner/table massage.
- Discover elements essential in choosing the seated massage equipment.
- Learn important items for effective client intake and assessment, as well as treatment planning and documentation for seated massage.
- Be provided with recommendations for proper body mechanics.
- Recognize ways to use posture, movement, and breathing to prevent therapist injury.
- Participate in hands-on Experiential Exercises and Case Studies with critical thinking questions and clinical Tips from the practitioner’s experience.
- Contraindications lists specify conditions that prohibit or limit the use of a particular stroke or technique.

- Teach students to be aware of the contraindications of chair massage.
The most common contraindications to massage in a massage chair include:
- High fever
- Broken bones
- Osteoporosis
- Cuts in the places where the massage is carried out
- Varicose veins of the legs
- Pregnancy or menstruation
- Fresh surgical wounds
- Implanted pacemakers, by-passes, or other electrical aids
